West Hill Park is a co-educational Preparatory
School for children 2½-13 years (boarding
from 7-13). Established in 1920 by Charles Ransome,
West Hill Park School remained family owned
until 1959 when it became a Charitable Trust
administered by a Board of Governors.
The fine Prep School building dates from the
18th century and houses the Library, Dining
Hall, Recreation Rooms, both boys and girls
boarding accommodation and administrative offices.Surrounding
buildings house 24 classrooms, and Art and Pottery
Centre, a purpose built Music School, two fully
equipped Science Laboratories, a Computer Centre,
an Assembly Hall with a large stage and theatrical
lighting, a twenty five metre indoor heated
Swimming Pool, a multi-purpose Sports Hall,
a Craft, Design and Technology Centre, a spacious
Pre-Prep Department and a Nursery Department
in its own attractive garden.
The grounds extend to nearly forty acres and
include playing fields, grass and hard tennis
courts, woodlands and, in summer, a nine hole
golf course.
