About Us

West Hill Park is a co-educational Preparatory School for children 2½-13 years (boarding from 7-13). Established in 1920 by Charles Ransome, West Hill Park School remained family owned until 1959 when it became a Charitable Trust administered by a Board of Governors.

The fine Prep School building dates from the 18th century and houses the Library, Dining Hall, Recreation Rooms, both boys and girls boarding accommodation and administrative offices.Surrounding buildings house 24 classrooms, and Art and Pottery Centre, a purpose built Music School, two fully equipped Science Laboratories, a Computer Centre, an Assembly Hall with a large stage and theatrical lighting, a twenty five metre indoor heated Swimming Pool, a multi-purpose Sports Hall, a Craft, Design and Technology Centre, a spacious Pre-Prep Department and a Nursery Department in its own attractive garden.

The grounds extend to nearly forty acres and include playing fields, grass and hard tennis courts, woodlands and, in summer, a nine hole golf course.
