Introduction

Our aim at West Hill Park is to provide an outstanding, broad Preparatory School education for boys and girls aged 2 ½ to 13 in three departments – Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep School – with boarding facilities from the age of 7, supported by a pastoral care system dedicated to the well being of each individual child.

The children follow a wide curriculum which prepares them for success at Common Entrance. The key subjects of English, Mathematics and Science receive the greatest amount of curriculum time, but from the age of 7 pupils have lessons in History; Geography; Religious Studies; French; Craft, Design & Technology; Information and Communication Technology; Physical Education; Art and Music. Latin is also taught to some pupils, but is not compulsory. Each day involves an opportunity for sport for all.

Great stress is put on voluntary activities after the end of the School Day. All children are encouraged to follow at least some of the wide choice available. The programme is varied enough to offer enjoyment, challenge and success to any child. One of the School's aims is to equip its children to move on to a school of their choice. In recent years senior pupils have won scholarships to a range of the best independent secondary schools.
