Religious Studies

Religious beliefs and values are central to the ethos of the school and this is reflected throughout all departments as well as in our daily life. This ethos allows the children to develop the skills that are vital to their success, happiness and understanding in a multi-cultural society, both in the present and their future. We have many links with the local Parish church; holding our carol service there and welcoming the Clergy to various events and assemblies.

The children learn about a variety of different world religions and, as they get older, they study the Common Entrance syllabus. This allows them to learn about specific stories from the Bible as well as more wide ranging contemporary issues and ethics. It is hoped that the children will come to regard Religious Studies as a living subject that is an integral part of the lives of millions around the world.
