EYE Grant

Posted in: EYE Grant, EYE Grant

West Hill Park Nursery is a registered provider under the EYE Grant Scheme.

From the term after your child's 3rd birthday until the term in which they have their 5th birthday, they are entitled to the EYE grant. The grant is based on the number of sessions per week that your child attends.

You have a choice as to where you send your child and you can choose for them to receive their nursery education from either:

What will the Grant fund?  It will fund up to a maximum of 5 sessions per week, each session lasting 2 and a half hours.

You could also choose for your child to take their grant at two different settings, as long as the total number does not exceed 5 sessions a week.

The total number of sessions you may receive could vary from term to term, but from the summer to the following spring term the maximum number of weeks you can receive grant for is 38 weeks.

Do you have to apply for funding? No, West Hill Park School will do this for you. Each term you will be asked to sign a form to say that you are not claiming more than 5 sessions per week in total.

You will also be asked to show evidence of your child's date of birth, e.g. birth certificate.

If your child doesn't attend 5 sessions, can you still claim the Grant? Yes, however grants will be reduced accordingly e.g. if your child attends 3 sessions per week you will receive 3/5 ths of the grant.

What happens if your child needs to move to a different nursery and leaves West Hill Park?  We will contact the Children's Centre and Extended Schools team and they will work out how much grant to pay up until the date your child leaves.  If your child then moves to a new provider, in certain circumstances you will be allowed to transfer the remainder of the Grant.
