History is a living and breathing subject which is not just about the past but also about the present. We study the past to learn about how society has developed and the similarities between us and people in the past.

To study the past we develop a range of skills to improve our understanding of what happened and why it happened. These skills include analysing artefacts and historical evidence, empathetic thinking, visiting historical sites and also communicating our knowledge and understanding in both a narrative and analytical way. By using role play, literature, art and ICT, we aim to foster a sense of curiosity about the past, and an understanding of the need to preserve and protect the History around us.
